Weekend Recap

This weekend was such a great one! It all started on Friday because my mother-n-law was off so I picked her up early that morning and took off to catch some of the good sales from labor day. Ever since I found out I was having a girl I like to shop the sales and see what I can pick up to add to her room in our house. My family has gotten her so much stuff she really is spoiled and I haven't even had her yet. I was actually tired a lot this day because of all the heat so we went and grabbed some lunch and then we went to pick up potato. My mother-n-law likes to keep her grandkids everyother weekend to spend more time with them and this was potato's weekend and my sister-n-law agreed to let us pick him up early. After we picked him up we headed back to maw's house because she was cooking a big dinner and it was pretty enough outside for us to sit on her patio and let them play in the yard. It was soo nice to see them get to know each other again because it had been so long since they played without being in town.

On saturday morning lil buck and I headed back to pick up maw and potato and take them to the build and grow at lowes. I really hadn't been going because I can't sit on the floor but maw promised she would find me a comfy chair (which she did :). After they built their puppy it was lunch time so we grabbed some food and headed to the park. We were at the park for like 2 hours and there was no other people so we really let the boys run wild. They both loved the swings but it was still hot to slide. Well, they eventually got so tired we had to leave but my son adores the slide so I had to try to get him to slide somehow so I got up there (38 wks preggo) and slid down only once. It actually hurt so I didn't attempt that again. After the park they took a long nap and when they woke up we took pictures of them in their saints outfits and I must say they looked adorable.

On Sunday when we brought potato back my sis-n-law gave me this older labtop that they fixed up for me and now I am able to get on the internet way more often so I can blog and keep you all up to date on us and the babies. I am due in 2 weeks so again if I take a break for a few days it's because I'm off to have my baby girl! Thank all of you for taking time to catch up and stay and follow me! Heres to many more blogs!

Baby Cheyenne

So as all of you know my son just had his first birthday. Now that all of that commotion is over with and we got all of his gifts nice and moved in our new house (o yea we moved from a 2 bed 1 bath and like no yard to a 3 bedroom 2 bath and office that sits on 3 acres). But now that we have everything moved we can concentrate on baby cheyenne. I am super excited for the holidays to come but before I can start any of that planning I must be ready for Cheyenne and having a second child will change our lives completely all over again.

This weekend we will have my baby sprinkle that my lovely sis-n-law is throwing with some of our friends and I am super excited (more details later). My mother-n-law is a fantastic photographer so I knew when she got back from vacation it is time to take my preggo photos. She had many visions so I brought lots of clothes to change into.

My husband is a really big hunter and I knew if I dressed in camo I would make him one happy man. So as I will post some of my better pictures I must dedicate all the ones in camo to my hubby whom I love so much!!

Monkey's First Haircut

Since Monkey was about 7 or 8 months old his hair has seriously started to curl. We talked about getting him a haircut for the longest time because people would mistake our beautiful boy for a pretty little girl (even though he was wearing clothes that did not resemble girls clothes in the least). I really didn't want to cut his hair until he turned at least a year old and when hubby realized I would allow a haircut he demanded he do it himself. This made me very nervous because I cut hubby's hair and his mother cut his hair before me so...he has no experience whatsoever in cutting hair. Well, I just thought to myself that I would tell him that he could do it and then when he was here we would just let maw do it.

Well, Maw did not really want to do it because he is just a baby and he moves a lot and she would be scared to cut him...but after telling my hubby story she finally gave in. So the very night of monkey's birthday after hubby got off of work they sat him down and Maw cut his hair while hubby tried to hold him still. I did not cry but when everyone saw that I was keeping his curls I got some crazy looks but I did not care. I could tape his first curl in his scrapbook. He really did not move too much but after we were done just looking at my child he looked much older and I knew a part of me had to let it go or I would want to hold onto it forever and never want him to grow up..but they have to and I'm trying to be happy about it.

Thank goodness his hair still curls but she cut enough so that it will hopefully get thicker and grow out faster and room to breathe...another stage in the baby mission conquered!

Buck's Special Day

For Buck Jr's actual birthday my hubby had to work so the next he took off and we decided to take him to Baton Rouge. First we decided to hit the zoo. It was a little hard for hubby because almost every animal we came to he thought the cage was entirely too small. But we got very lucky because I don't know if it was the rainy weather but all the animals were out and willing to play.

I think monkey's favorite was the little aquarium because as soon as we entered it his entire face lit up and he refused to stay inside of his wagon. He loved pointing to all of the fish and watching them swim around. He also really liked the big animals. I don't think he started pointing soo much until this trip to the zoo.

After spending about 3 hours at the zoo hubby and I decided that it was time to eat. We went eat at the Long Horn Steakhouse to try it out for the first time. The lunch menu was great! We even had enough room for dessert..and of course monkey just loved that!

Next we took him to the big Bass Pro Shop. We looked around for a good long time and let him see all the fish and ducks they had in their pond. Of course we were already looking at potential christmas gifts because we already know what auntie is getting him..so we were making more plans. So we picked him out a bass pro shop romper (yes auntie i bought a romper) and some camo short overalls. There were lots of other things we wanted to buy him but we had set out there for only a few things and we had more than reached our limit. So we made our way back home after a long day and ended it with hubby making us awesome sandwiches and we were more than glad to hit the sack early.

Buck Jr's 1st Birthday Party

Well, as you all know my beautiful baby boy has finally turned 1. We had lots of family and friends over to celebrate with us! I didn't get many pictures of everyone because there were lots of things going on but the ones I did get are great!

We had lots of drinks and deer burgers and deer sausage and chips and dips and lots and lots of cake. We all ate and hung out for a little while and when we were nice and full I put monkey in his high chair with his brithday hat and bib and had hubby bring out the cake. We had a special little cake made around a cup cake so that he could tear into it all he wanted. He wasn't really hungry anymore but he sure did tear that thing open! After the cake we opened presents. He got lots of gifts but it was hard trying to open all of them and make him sit down. He wanted to run all over the place and play (like little boys do).

Then we all went inside and had our own cake. I am now 7 months pregnant and by this time I was completely exhausted. One of my best friends from Texas came down with her fiance and she was nice enough to massage my shoulders which felt great! We were so full that all we could do was sit in the house and talk and let the kids completely wear themselves out.

All in all we had a great time and I know our little peanut enjoyed his 1st birthday party even though he probably won't remember it...I know I always will!

Buck Jr's First Pow-Wow

Ok, I am sure that you have noticed that I am white and my hubby....is not. Both of hubby's parents have strong Indian blood lines in them. I think Maw is half cherokee and half choctaw so my hubby is almost full indian. Well, I am only half french and half german so it is hard to embrace my heritage when I am not one full thing. Anyways, hubby and his family have been going to pow-wows before he could even walk. They have big ones and little ones. Well, I saw an add that they were going to have one in Marksville, La and I thought awesome! That is only like 1 1/2 from us so we would be able to go no problem!

When we got there we really didn't want to stay in the casino because it is not really a good place to take a baby so we tried to find other places that were close but had more to do for children. We lucked out by finding this great little place that rented out cabins and it was almost directly behind the casino so we wouldn't be too far. They had a playground and a big pool so we knew it was perfect.

When it was time for the pow-wow we went in and the first thing we did was buy some fried bread. Me or monkey had never had it so it was a first and let me tell you it was wonderful. If it hadn't been for hubby to stop us we would probably made ourselves sick. We walked around to all the huts and looked for little souvenirs to buy. I must say they have some of the coolest stuff out there to get but sometimes you have to be careful because sometimes it is not real and not worth anything..but my hubby was there to make sure what I bought was authentic.

Soon we all gathered around when the dancing began. I can tell you it is nothing like I have ever seen. You can't really follow the music because it is in a different language and unless you speak it you have no idea what's going on. The costumes were absolutely gorgeous. Just looking at them I could tell that it probably took a long time and a lot of hard work to make them. While watching them dance we took pictures and ate dinner. We were only there for that first day because hubby had to get back to work but I can tell you this is a first experience of many! I can't wait to look up the next one and see when we can go again!

Baby Peyton Has Arrived!

One of my close friends at work has been pregnant and looking like she is more than ready to pop. Sunday night she went in to be induced and just about everything went wrong! There were many complications that has forced her to have a C-Section. She has now been in the hospital for 6 days now and are hoping that she can come home soon.

Wednesday night Maw packed up her equipment while I packed up lil tadpole and we went to see Lacy and Peyton! When we got there not only did Lacy look wonderful but she was walking out of her room and down the hall to go get Peyton! She stopped when she saw us but she was looking terrific! So we chatted with her for a little while, while jack went get baby Peyton. Lacy was still in a little bit of pain and having a few blood pressure problems but from the way it sounded she was feeling much better.

When Peyton arrived I can't tell you how badly I itched to hold and cuddle her. She is an absolutely beautiful baby. She would wake up and just look at you with those big brown eyes. She really didn't cry unless she was hungry or cold, she's a wonderful baby. Maw was able to get a few great pictures of her with some of her props and they came out wonderful. I would naturally put them on here but Lacy has not seen them yet and we want momma to be able to see her first baby's pictures so those will have to wait. She's absolutely beautiful and I can't wait until next week when we go visit to hold and love her again.

Generation Smith

For the longest time my hubby has been wanting to take a generation picture. At first I really didn't know what he was talking about because we had never done anything like that in our family. He explained it to me that it was grandpa smith, daddy smith ,and little smith either all boys or all girls. He had seen a picture taken like this of his father and grandfather so as soon as our boy was big enough he wanted one taken of them.

So he explained this certain picture in my head and you know once you get something in your head it just sticks there and nothing will make you happy unless it is perfect. Well, when we explained what he wanted to Maw being the professional photographer she is she said she could create exactly what he wanted.

Well, lil tad-pole's birthday is coming up and he is turning one so we thought this would make a perfect picture for his birthday cake. When we took the pictures I can honestly say she hit it on the head perfectly!

Build and Grow: Monster Truck

So far the past few weekends Maw has been taking lil buck to Lowes: Build and Grow and Home Depot. Every time they would come back they would have a wooden something that they made, their apron, a patch, and a certificate saying what they built, and lots of pictures to show mommy. While I was working I always had to work every Saturday from 7-12 and I would always miss it. Well, I had to quit my job because I am pregnant and it was just too hard I actually got to go this week. The kids there made monster trucks. So I show up in this cute lil white skirt and top thinking I would sit in a chair with him and we would hammer whatever it was together. Not so much. First of all we had to sit on the floor (and I was much grateful later) and the little package had like 10 nails and instructions....not so fun for the uncoordinated...

It was really fun but this is definitely a job for him and his daddy cause I was sweating and it took me like forever to put this truck together. He actually hammered a good bit of it and was used to going so it wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would have been in the beginning. After we finished hammering and putting all the stickers on we took a few pictures to show off what we had done! Wait til we get home to show diddy! I can honestly say I am proud of myself and my son for doing such a great job! But I will definitely know for next time to go in comfy clothes!

I was also surprised how well he was around other kids when we were there. He doesn't get to play with a lot of other kids besides potato and I kind of expected him to cling to me or his maw but if I would have let him he would have been the social butterfly and just walked up to all the kids and played with them or took their stuff. It kind of broke my heart because he is so excited with other kids I just hope we can find some more friends his age to hang out with because he LOVES being around other people.

4-Wheeler Riding

We have kind of had a long day. Last night we completely debugged our house of everything so that way when we got home today we would have to do some serious cleaning. For the past few days lil buck has not been feeling too well. So in the mist of all the cleaning I called the pediatrician. I hate it when he gets sick so I knew just by looking at him something simple would not ease his pain.

We saw the pediatrician and she pretty much told us that the symptoms he was having is because he is outside a lot and would have to get used to all the pollen and his immune system was just fighting all the yucky stuff. So after we left there we finished up at home and rode out to see maw and pap.

We got to go along for the ride and see if this new 4-wheeler was any good. Well, it turns out that pap loved it so he bought a new bike today. He also promised lil buck that as soon as we got back diddy would take him for a ride when he got home. This was an end to a very long day. This completely made his day and left a big smile on his face would could not have made me happier!

Father's Day

We actually celebrated Father's Day on Friday because Hubby had to work pretty much all day on Father's Day. It started out with me and monkey cooking breakfast for Hubby and just sleepin in and watching some TV. After that we packed up a nice lunch in our picinic basket and headed to the park. There was not much grass but there were plenty of ducks to feed. We played around and strolled the park for a while and let monkey feed anything that walked. Then we parked and had a nice picnic. It was so hot there that when we got home we were all pooped and it was nap time!

When we finally got up we packed up and went to see Maw and Pap. Cousin was at his photo shoot taking some pics for his daddy so we stopped by in River Ranch to see if we could help out. Not only did cousin get some great photos but hubby and monkey managed to catch 3 brim out the pond. It was so funny to see hubby searching for worms in the trees. So we headed out and went to eat dinner. And there we ended the great day eating dinner with maw and pap and aunt and cousin. We had a great and fulfilled day and it was hubby's first so we hope he will remember it forever.

Hubby and Me

Hubby and I met way back in high school when we both least expected it. Football was always my favorite sport (even though it was too rough to play). When we talked the first couple of times and he mentioned fishing and hunting and him being a football player and all I was hooked. Then I just had to convince him that he was too. We started hunting together and got to know each and we both fell head over heels. It didn't take us long to realize that we both wanted to get married and have children and start a family, but being in high school we would have to wait awhile. The longer we were together the more I wanted to be around not just him but his entire family. They taught me soo many things I never wanted to leave.

We have had a lot of ups and downs and hard times on mostly the subjects of college and not knowing what our careers would be and religious issues so we just decided to settle and get married. We dated for 3 years and have been married for 1 1/2 years now and I would not have changed one thing for the entire world. I look forward to everyday with him and a wonderful future to come.
